Puzzling in a Pandemic
April 22, 2020
Apparently there’s a resurgence of puzzles and board games as we shelter at home. My hat’s off to those of you who can take thousands of itty-bitty pieces and make them fit together into a coherent vision. I cannot.
But I do love to take pieces of information and weave them into some sort of story. I also love to deconstruct the pieces of the mystery and solve a case. Solving puzzles and solving mysteries is a way to make something out of disorder, match wits with another, and tie up loose ends.
With that in mind, I am using our shelter at home time to rework some of my mysteries. Many of you know I used to write, perform, and facilitate interactive mysteries for others to solve. We had physical evidence to examine, suspects to question, and leads to follow.
I hope to make mysteries available to other mystery lovers through short stories for all ages, mystery scripts, my mystery novel and possibly on-line games. I have much work to do, and appreciate your interest and support.
